This project was officially proposed on behalf of Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University . Prof. Rangsan Torsuwan
was the chief of design team. Rajamangala is the largest sporting arena in Thailand , with 60,000 seats. Located at Huamark sport district, it was completed in 1998. Along the sides, the stands are semicircular and very spacious, with one side being covered by a weaving roof. Terraces occupy the ends of the stadium. The stadium has a video screen and the pitch is surrounded by an athletics track. It hosted many major events including the 1998 Asian Games as its grand opening.
